Marché International, a subsidiary of the Mövenpick Group of Switzerland, (marche-restaurants.com) will re-launch its flagship Marché® Restaurant in down town Toronto in 2010. Marché anticipates that 10 new Marché® Restaurants, Marché® Bistros, Marchélino® and Marché® Natural Bakeries will open in conjunction with its flagship

With the new Marché® and Marchélino® Restaurants in 2010 Canadians will once again be able to enjoy the Marché® freshness and quality combined with unparalleled Swiss hospitality. Canadians will no longer need to go without traditionally-prepared breads and other baked goods: Several Marché® Bistros, Marchélino® and Marché® Natural Bakeries will be re-launched at various locations in 2010 and 2011 in and around the metropolitan Toronto area.

Marché® knows Canada - Canada knows Marché®
Marché® enjoys a colourful history in Canada. As early as in 1992, Marché® opened its first restaurant in Toronto. Between 1992 and 1996, about 20 Marché® and Marchélino® locations were in operation in Toronto and Ottawa. Since late 2005, Marché has tirelessly scoured the Canadian marketplace for locations that would be synonymous with one of Canada's most successful restaurants and food businesses. In 2010, the reincarnation of Marché® and Marchélino® in Canada will get underway. Oliver Altherr, the CEO of Marché International, is eagerly awaiting this next step in the on-going expansion of the company. "We are totally convinced that we will quickly be successful in winning over new customers in Toronto with our market-fresh cuisine and our traditional methods of baking breads and pastries." In the mid-term, Oliver Altherr is planning a total of 10 locations, which will generate about CAD 30 million (approximately CHF 30 million) in revenues for the company.

Outstanding Ratings for the Marché® Concept
The design concept behind the Marché® philosophy rests on three primary principles: Freshness, quality and products of the season. In Europe, the Marché® concept has become the benchmark for the gastronomy industry in highly-frequented locations. In the spring of 2008, Marché International was awarded the "Oscar" of the European gastronomy branch, the Hamburg Food Service Prize, for its highly-acclaimed Marché® concept.
