The first Marché® Bistro in Switzerland was opened on 20 November 2008 at the Basel Weil highway rest stop. Marché International is continu-ing to expand its market presence with its Marché®-Freshness Restaurant along the highway A2/A5 and is now operating a total of 13 rest stops along the Swiss highway system.

Starting with the interior decoration and furnishings …
The Marché® Bistro at Basel Weil offers seating capacity for 100 guests and a total staff of 25 makes sure that every one of these guests feels at home. The rest stop is open seven days a week, from 6:00 am until 11:00 pm, and has a wide variety of fresh and high- quality meals and snacks available for its guests throughout this time. A play corner for the kids with natural wooden toys, a Hipp Service Station for the toddlers, an informa-tion desk from the Basel Office of Tourism and a Migrol Shop round out the entire offering.

… and continuing on the freshness offering
The diversified choices being offered to our guests include breakfast, snacks and even complete meals - and freshness and a healthy nutrition are always being in our focus. Whether you prefer freshly-prepared crêpes with fruit, individually-crafted sandwiches with home-made spreads, spe-cialties from the grill or seasonal vegetables; everything we offer is freshly prepared right before the curious eyes of our hungry guests. All of the things we offer, both hot and cold, are also available for take-out.
